“Prof. (Dr.) C. Ramasubramanian: A Visionary Leader in Computer Science and Research at Lingaya’s Vidyapeeth”
Prof. (Dr.) C. Ramasubramanian, the Pro-Vice Chancellor of Lingaya’s Vidyapeeth, Faridabad, has dedicated over 24 years to teaching and 19 years to research, establishing himself as a prominent figure in academia. With a strong background in Computer Science and Engineering, he holds dual Ph.D. degrees: one in Computer Science from Anna University, Chennai, and another in Computer Science and Engineering from Jain University, Bangalore. His second doctorate, conferred in February 2024, focused on “Optimized Machine Learning Classification Approaches for Early Diagnosis and Prediction of Fetal Abnormalities.”
His academic journey began with a postgraduate degree from Bharathidasan University, followed by an M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering from PRIST University. He has since supervised five Ph.D. scholars and authored over 135 research papers in reputed journals and conferences. He has also been granted three patents from India and the UK. His research interests encompass Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Software Reliability, Internet of Things, Big Data, Cloud Computing, Wireless Sensor Networks, Security, and Blockchain. His contributions extend to international collaborations with renowned institutions such as Cardiff Metropolitan University (UK), University of Cambridge (UK), National University of Singapore, and Anglia Ruskin University (UK).
His research has taken him to the UK, Singapore, and Thailand, where he has presented groundbreaking work on the integration of Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and IoT in healthcare and agriculture. An active participant in academic and professional communities, he is a member of several prestigious organizations, including IEEE, ACM, and the Computer Society of India (CSI). He is also a reviewer for journals such as IJQRM, Springer Nature, Elsevier, and IEEE Conferences.
His teaching portfolio includes a wide range of subjects like Software Engineering, Software Testing, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Data Analytics, with a focus on equipping students with the tools and knowledge required to meet industry demands. As an academic leader, Dr. Ramasubramanian emphasizes the importance of teaching in a rapidly evolving field like computer science. He believes in empowering students to think critically and independently, equipping them not just with knowledge but with the ability to adapt and innovate.
His approach to education is centered on fostering an environment of exploration and problem-solving, which he believes is more effective than rote memorization. In his role as a research supervisor, he encourages students to pursue their own research directions, offering guidance while allowing them the freedom to explore. His research methodology is a three-step process: conducting field trials to identify real-world challenges, designing and implementing cost-effective solutions, and rigorously evaluating the effectiveness of these systems in developing regions. This approach, he believes, can bring about meaningful change in global development.
His work is particularly focused on addressing societal challenges through technological innovation. His long-term goal is to revolutionize the design of Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and IoT systems to better serve real-world needs. He views his academic and research journey as a collaborative effort, where teamwork and commitment play a crucial role in achieving success. In a recent statement, Dr. Ramasubramanian expressed his gratitude for receiving the Excellence in Academic Leadership Award from the Asian Excellence Awards community.
He acknowledged the guidance of his teachers, mentors, family, and colleagues, who have been instrumental in his success. With this recognition, he is motivated to continue his work and take on new challenges that will benefit both his organization and society at large. His inspiring journey is a testament to the power of dedication, innovation, and the pursuit of knowledge, and he remains committed to shaping the future of academia and research.
