Mrs. Vinita Jamdade is a dedicated nurse whose career is shaped by an unwavering commitment to serving humanity. After gaining admission to the prestigious BJ Medical School of Nursing, she began her remarkable journey in healthcare. Her early passion for healthcare led her to take on significant challenges, one of which was setting up a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Sanjeevan Hospital.
Her leadership and exceptional care skills were quickly recognized, and she was appointed as Head Nurse at Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital (DMH). For over seven years, she managed critical departments, including the ICU, dialysis, private wards, and the operation theatre. Her dedication and professionalism earned her the admiration of both patients and hospital trustees. Vinita’s interest in oncology eventually led her to specialize in ostomy care. She trained at Tata Memorial Hospital and further advanced her education in Seoul, Korea, where she gained expertise in stoma care. Despite facing financial challenges, she worked multiple jobs to fund her fellowship, driven by a strong desire to help patients with stomas.
One of her most fulfilling roles has been advocating for the acceptance of stoma patients by society, providing them with the care and support they need. As her financial situation improved, Vinita continued her education, earning a Post Basic B.Sc. in Nursing and later an M.Sc. in Nursing. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. and has accumulated 25 years of nursing experience, 14 of which have been dedicated to teaching. She is a registered nurse and is affiliated with several nursing organizations, such as the TNAI. Her career has also seen numerous research publications and presentations to her credit.
