Ms. Sunita Arora, a seasoned luminary in the realm of education, stands as the esteemed founder and Principal of DPS, Howrah. With an illustrious career spanning over 28 years, she has traversed various roles from teacher to coordinator and headmistress in prestigious institutions, carving her path to the upper echelons of educational administration. Her fervent dedication to the noble vocation of teaching has propelled her ascent into managerial realms, where she has adeptly steered educational institutions for the past fifteen years, tirelessly advocating for their advancement and nurturing a fervent commitment to refining educational methodologies.
Hailing from an academic background, she pursued her early education at Our Lady Queen of Missions before embarking on her academic journey, obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Rani Birla College. Undeterred by the conventional, she pursued further studies, attaining a Master’s degree in English and a Bachelor of Education from IGNOU. Her quest for holistic education led her to complete a Montessori Education Course at the esteemed Birla Institute of Liberal Arts & Management Sciences, followed by a Trained Teachers’ Certificate (TTC) from the Educational Support Centre, Education Department, Government of West Bengal. Augmenting her repertoire of skills, she also undertook courses in Computer Education from Intel Teach to the Future and delved into the intricate discipline of Graphology at the Institute of Graphology.
Her professional journey commenced in 1996 at Young Learner’s Montessori, where she honed her teaching prowess for two years before transitioning to an instructional role for a Montessori course at B.I.L.A.M.S. Her trajectory saw her ascend to the position of academic coordinator at Lakshmipat Singhania Academy in 2000, paving the way for her tenure as Headmistress of the Pre-Primary Department at Delhi Public School, Megacity, in 2011. In 2014, she assumed the mantle of founder Principal at Delhi Public School, Howrah, heralding a new chapter in her distinguished career.
Armed with extensive exposure to the CBSE curriculum, she has cultivated a visionary approach toward education, propelling her to emerge as a stalwart academic leader capable of steering her institution to unprecedented heights within a remarkably brief span of time. Her accolades and affiliations bear testament to her eminence in the educational landscape, from serving as the joint secretary of the CBSE Sahodaya Complex Kolkata to contributing her expertise to committees tasked with reviewing study materials and overseeing examination processes.
Her remarkable achievements have garnered widespread recognition, epitomized by prestigious accolades such as the ‘Global Principal Awards 2020’ by AKS Education Awards and the ‘Outstanding Education Leadership Award 2023’ by EGN India.
