Dr. Sandip Gun: Transforming Education and Nurturing Excellence at Jalpaiguri Higher Secondary School

Dr. Sandip Gun took over as the Headmaster of Jalpaiguri Higher Secondary School, Po&Dt. Jalpaiguri, West Bengal on 22 November 1999. For the past 24 years as a headmaster, he has devoted his all to the academic and physical advancement of the school. He has been instrumental in the introduction of computer-mediated learning in the school. As a result of his consistent efforts, the infrastructure was expanded to include up to 10 classrooms,  a large, open hall and four more laboratories for curriculum courses. Smart classes were implemented and a new library was built in addition to the previous one. The results of the Secondary and Higher Secondary exams have significantly improved over time. The school regularly hosts literary festivals, workshops, science seminars, and seminars on Indian culture and tradition. The school observes School Hygiene Week and hosts Health Check-Up Camps every month.

In the following years, Dr Sandip Gun aspires to set up a kitchen garden, a water treatment plant and a multi-gym in the school. He has always emphasized individualized instruction aimed at fostering the creativity of students. To achieve this, he has incorporated online courses with a focus on virtual instruction and included digital tools, Google services, and the use of visual and auditory cues. He is esteemed for his outstanding contributions to the world of education. His persistent hard work has been recognized with more than nine hundred national and international accolades.
