Dr. SANDEEPSHRIVASTAVA

Dr. Sandeep Shrivastava has made significant contributions to the field of Health Services and Medical
Education. He is an Orthopaedic Surgeon with extensive experience in the Ilizarov Methodology, having
treated over 5000 children for deformities through
Limb reconstruction and lengthening. His outstanding work in this field has earned him the “Apang-Mitra” Award from the Maharashtra State Government.
Dr. Shrivastava is also a renowned teacher, with over
25 years of experience in medical education. He
serves as a Director-Professor in Orthopaedics and is
a National and International Faculty member in Ilizarov Workshops. He has also conducted several PG
Courses for the Indian Orthopaedic Association and
is a doctoral supervisor for Orthopaedics & Regenerative Medicine.
Dr. Shrivastava is the first person in India to hold a PhD in Health Professional Education, with a
specialization in Quality Assurance. He has established the concept and Program of Quality Assurance in Medical Education, known as the Academic Appraisal Program. His work in this area was
recognized with the first prize by the Nodal Centre for Faculty Development.
As the Youngest Dean of the Medical Institute at the age of 42, Dr. Shrivastava has demonstrated his
expertise in medical administration. He has led several Rural Tertiary Care Teaching Hospitals as a
Chief Executive Officer and played a crucial role in establishing the E-Learning School of Virtual
Learning and Integrated Museum. His efforts have resulted in the hospital offering state-of-the-art
services, including Cadaveric Organ transplantation.
Dr. Shrivastava is also an accomplished researcher, with numerous publications in reputed journals,
including LANCET, author of 4 books and inventor of “STARS therapy”, a game-changing therapy in
wound management. He has also delivered two National Orations and has been invited to keynote
addresses across the globe.
Furthermore, Dr Shrivastava has won many awards for his outstanding contributions to the field of
medicine, including the “Lords of Planet 2019-20,” the Nagpur Health Care Award, and the Lifetime
Achievement Award for his research on Regenerative care for wounds and Rashtriya Chiksa Samman
for outstanding work during Covid period.
He is committed to the cause of upliftment of health for the underprivileged populace and creating a
platform for “equal health opportunities” for all.
He is currently the Ist “Chief Scientific Officer” of the University, establishing the Centre of Translational Sciences and also the “Mentor for DMIHER Global”, the office of International Affairs, collaborating successfully with institutions like the Mayo Clinic, Weil Cornell and Cleveland Clinic.
