Dr. Monoj Shikdar is an esteemed educator with a rich background in both academic and administrative roles in the field of education. He is the son of the late Mrityounjoy Shikdar and Sabita Shikdar and hails from Silchar, Cachar, Assam. Born on January 30, 1978, his academic journey and professional career have been marked by a commitment to excellence and service in education. His educational path began with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from Radhamadhab College, Silchar, in 1999, where he graduated with 52%. He then pursued a Master of Arts from Nagaland Global Open University in 2010, securing 62%.

His dedication to furthering his knowledge in the field of education led him to pursue a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree from Kanpur University (CSJMU) in 2014, where he achieved an impressive 71%. The following year, he completed his Master of Education (M.Ed.) from the same university with a 72% score. In 2019, he registered for a Ph.D. in Education at CCSU (Meerut), a state government university in Uttar Pradesh, and received his degree at the convocation in 2023, marking a significant milestone in his academic journey.

His professional career began in 2000 when he worked as an Assistant Teacher at Monohar Ali Memorial High School, Sonaimukh, Cachar, Assam, where he dedicated himself to the education of students for over seven years. His teaching experience further expanded when he took on a part-time role as a lecturer of Education at Vivekananda Senior Secondary School, Silchar, from June 2011 to December 2016. This opportunity allowed him to refine his teaching skills and broaden his knowledge in the educational domain. In July 2016, he began his tenure as an Assistant Professor at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee College of Education, where he has continued to contribute significantly to the academic growth of students. Over the years, Dr. his leadership qualities were recognized, and he was appointed Co-Ordinator of the college from October 2017 to December 2020, followed by his promotion to Vice-Principal from January 2021 to January 2023. Currently, he serves as the Principal (i/c) of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee College of Education, a position he has held since January 27, 2023. Throughout his career, he has been committed to advancing education beyond the classroom. He has participated in international conferences, including events at the University of Delhi and CCSU, Meerut, further enhancing his academic expertise and global perspective.
