“Dr. Marin Jose: Shaping the Future of Education in Kerala through Innovation and Dedication”
Dr. Marin Jose stands as a prominent figure in the academic realm of Kerala, renowned for her innovative contributions to education and extensive scholarly publications. With a passionate and creative approach, she emerges not only as an esteemed teacher educator but also as a visionary social engineer, dedicated to shaping the future of education.
Currently serving as a senior faculty member in Education at St. Joseph College of Teacher Education for Women in Ernakulam, Kerala, affiliated with Mahatma Gandhi University Kottayam, her expertise lies in Educational Technology (e-Learning), Special Education, and English Education. She has undertaken notable research projects, including a state-level endeavor titled ‘Effectiveness of e-learning on the Achievement of Students with reading and writing disorders in English,’ funded by the Centre for Disability Studies (CeDS), a Government of Kerala Undertaking.
She possesses a diverse set of technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Flash with Script, Adobe InDesign, PHP, DATABASE, JAVASCRIPT, Joomla, Moodle, SPSS, R, and Python. She has showcased her expertise through paper presentations, participation, and organization of international, national, and state-level conferences, seminars, and workshops. Additionally, she has contributed extensively to academic literature with numerous research articles and has served as a resource person in various programs. Her professional affiliations include AIAER, AKTCTA, CTEF, CEAM, and AIACHE, reflecting her active engagement within the academic community.
Born in 1975 in Muttuchira, Kerala, to P.J. Joseph Pandarakappil and C.M. Aleyamma, she pursued her education diligently. She completed her schooling at St. Agnes GHS Muttuchira, PreDegree at Alphonsa College Pala, Graduation at KE College Mannanam, and Post Graduation at St. Thomas College Pala. Furthering her academic journey, she obtained her B.Ed. from St. Thomas Training College Pala, M.Ed. from St. Ann’s College Mangalore, and Ph.D. in Education with a focus on eLearning from Mahatma Gandhi University Kerala.
Her illustrious career history includes serving as a Full-time UGC-Junior Research Fellow for Doctoral research in Education at R.I.E. Mysore. She also dedicated her expertise as a Higher Secondary School Teacher (English) at St. George Higher Secondary School Aruvithura from 2000 to 2003. Since 2003, she has been serving as an Assistant Professor in Education at St. Joseph College of Teacher Education for Women, Ernakulam, Kerala, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to shaping future educators.
