“Dr. M. Kowsalya: A Visionary in Engineering Education and Renewable Energy Research”
Dr. (Mrs.) M. Kowsalya is an esteemed academician with 27 years of experience in the field of engineering education. She currently serves as a professor at VIT Vellore, where her expertise and dedication to research and teaching have made significant contributions to the academic community. Her educational journey began with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Engineering from Annamalai University. She further advanced her academic qualifications by earning a Ph.D. from Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Vellore.
Her commitment to expanding her research capabilities led her to complete a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Kunsan National University, South Korea, which significantly enriched her academic expertise and research outlook. Over the years, she has made substantial contributions to her field, particularly in the areas of voltage stability, power, and control of renewable energy systems (RES). With over 70 journal publications in high-impact factor journals and more than 50 presentations at prestigious international conferences, she has become a well-respected voice in her research domain.
Her extensive body of work has greatly advanced the understanding and development of power systems, particularly in the integration and management of renewable energy sources. She has also played a key role in securing and leading research initiatives. She has worked on five funded projects aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of renewable energy systems and power systems. Her ability to secure research grants and lead innovative projects underscores her expertise in securing resources and pushing the boundaries of scientific knowledge. Through her research, she has contributed to the ongoing transformation of the energy sector, particularly in improving the efficiency and stability of renewable energy integration.
