“Dr. Hemam Sangeeta Devi: Pioneering Excellence in Nursing Education and Leadership”

Dr. Hemam Sangeeta Devi, originally from Moirang, Manipur, embarked on her educational odyssey driven by a profound passion for nursing. Graduating with first-class honors in BSc Nursing from Sara Nursing College, Erode Dist Dharapuram in 1999, she swiftly transitioned into the role of a dedicated staff nurse, committed to serving patients. Her fervor for nursing education propelled her into teaching roles within nursing colleges, laying the foundation for her illustrious career.

Continuing her academic pursuit, she attained a Master’s in Nursing specializing in Medical Surgical Nursing from Sacred Heart Nursing Council, Madurai, graduating in 2004. Recognized for her expertise and leadership acumen, she ascended to Vice Principal and subsequently Principal roles in various nursing institutions. Presently, she holds the esteemed position of Principal at SEA College of Nursing, Bangalore.

Fuelled by an unyielding thirst for knowledge, she earned her Doctorate of Philosophy in Nursing in 2017. Serving as a mentor for both undergraduate and postgraduate students, she has spearheaded numerous national and international workshops, webinars, seminars, and conferences, enriching the academic realm of nursing education. Her dedication to the profession is further evidenced by her prolific publication record in esteemed international journals, inspiring faculty and students alike to engage in impactful research endeavors.

Despite encountering formidable challenges, she persevered, balancing familial responsibilities with her professional aspirations with unwavering resolve. Her steadfast commitment to advancing nursing through innovative education and research initiatives remains undiminished.

Dr. Devi’s scholarly aptitude is underscored by her authorship of two seminal books: “Practical Record of Nursing Foundation for GNM” and “Practical Record Book in Medical Surgical Nursing I & II for 2nd Year,” which serve as invaluable resources for nursing students, enhancing their educational experience.

Acknowledged for her exceptional contributions, Dr. Devi has received prestigious accolades including the Emerging Coach Award from IDQ and Master NLP Practitioner. Her remarkable journey culminated in recognition such as the Asian Education Awards’ Top 10 Principals (2022), the TPL Shiksha Award for Best Principal for Excellence in the Local Community (2022), and the Center for Education Growth and Research’s Best Principal for Education and Research (2022).
