Career Building in the Digital Age: The Wisdom of Dr. Bhooshan Kelkar

Dr Bhooshan Kelkar holds a B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering from IIT Bombay (1991), an MS (1992) and PhD (1995) in AI from the UK with scholarship and Certifications in Bioinformatics from the University of California and in IP Law from IBM Watson Research Center, New York. Dr Bhooshan is an Inventor of 23 US patents in multiple technologies, and Dr Bhooshan has been named – “IBM Master Inventor”. He has written 17 books, some being Best Sellers and has numerous conference and journal publications.

Dr Bhooshan Kelkar spent two decades in the UK and the USA in academia and companies like IBM and a startup in California -“Praxis Engineers, Inc.” (later bought out by GE) and decided to come back to India to work in the field of Education.

He was the ‘Country Manager’ for “University Relations” of IBM India/South Asia and has worked with the top 100 campuses of India. At the same time, he also taught at “Chanakya Mandal Parivar” where he mentored students for UPSC and MPSC examinations. In 2013, after leaving IBM, he started his own company- “Neuflex Talent Solutions Pvt Ltd” where he developed an AI-powered and Applied psychology-based, unique career counselling instrument called the “Gestalt Suite”. The Gestalt Test not only suggests differential careers but also indicates the top 5 personalized study methods out of possible 26. More than 21,000 students from 23 different countries have taken this exam, and Neuflex Talent has won numerous national and international awards for “AI-based Counseling.”

Dr. Bhooshan has designed/delivered courses in Universities in the UK, USA and India. He has delivered sessions on IP and its importance at various places- nationally and internationally. He is also an invited member of the FICCI-IPR Committee and was the “Program Architect” for the “Multiversity Innovation Course” (mentored by Dr Vijay Bhatkar and Dr Raghunath Mashelkar), a 45 hours online course (2015-16) on Udemy. He has taught soft skills at 189 University of Pune colleges as part of the “Train the Trainers” program. He has been interviewed by ‘All India Radio’, TV channels such as ‘Zee Business’, ABP-Maza”, ‘IBN Lokmat’, “Vyas Channel” of UGC and at many public events. He is also a TEDx Speaker and has written columns on career advancement and employment. 

Dr Bhooshan is the author of the 2008 Marathi best-seller book “Swadesh”. He has also written books on Resume Writing. He has also written Best Seller books in Marathi and English on “Industry 4.0”. In 2023, Dr Bhooshan has written books on “Future-proof” career building- in Marathi “Career chi Gunsutre” and in English as “The Career Gene”. 

Apart from Gestalt Suite, Neuflex Talent Solutions also has two Apps which are unique and AI-based- “CareerClock” and “MovIntact”.

Dr Bhooshan obtained MBTI certification from NY in 2011 and has publications and filed US patents in the area of use of psychometry and social media analytics for team building, OD and HR. Dr. Bhooshan was also a faculty for Maharashtra Police Academy soft skills training in 2010 &11. Dr Bhooshan has helped many firms (biotech, IT, manufacturing and pharmaceuticals) and individuals in innovation from the incubation stage to IP protection. Dr Bhooshan specializes in consulting on innovation and IP. He has conducted many “Patent Mining” sessions resulting in IP and its monetization that can have an immense impact on business brand, company valuation and market differentiation.
