Dr. PRIYANKAJOSHI
Dr. Priyanka Joshi has an M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Foods
and Nutrition. She has specialization in Bakery and
confectionery, Food Product Development, Food
Analysis, Diet Therapy and Community Nutrition.
She has received many accolades for her extraordinary contributions – Best Poster Award, Best Product
Award and awardee of Poster Presentation at
National and International Conferences. She is also a
budding Entrepreneur and founder of Nutrica Tiny
Bites in Udaipur, Rajasthan. The enterprise has
developed and offered more than twenty-five types
of millet-based cookies and multigrain snacks for
kids, diabetics and patients with gluten intolerance.
Currently, she is a faculty member in the Department
of Food Science and Nutrition, College of Community and Applied Sciences, MPUAT, Udaipur,
Rajasthan. She has 15 years of experience in teaching, research and extension in the field of Foods and
Nutrition. For three years, she has been running an Experiential Learning Unit sponsored by ICAR
(New Delhi) at Udaipur where students are trained to develop innovative millet-based products. By
imparting her entrepreneurship experiences, she helps students get a wider view of the potential
opportunities and techniques that are substantial in setting up a startup.
Dr. Joshi has been credited to her account Post-Doctoral Fellowship (2012-2017) under women category by U.G.C. New Delhi for the project entitled “Nutritional Mapping of Underutilized Foods of
Uttarakhand: Their Value Addition and Commercialization”. In her Post Doc Project, she developed
a database of underutilized foods of Uttarakhand, analyzed & formulated a variety of value-added
products of these foods including millet and also popularized & promoted these products among the
community for achieving food and nutrition security. Furthermore, she has designed and developed
a strategy to organize Community Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) camps and PD
Hearth sessions for combating malnutrition in tribal areas of Udaipur. She has more than 35 publications including research papers in National and International Journals, technical and popular articles,
booklets, folders, newsletters and posters.
On the occasion of the International Year of Millets 2023, she participated and was acknowledged in
various National and International Conferences. To enhance her subject knowledge, she has upgraded herself via, FDPs Software’s, Public Speaking, Ayurveda Dietetics, Google tools, Effective communication and advanced Presentation Skills. She marks her timely participation in Bakery and Confectionary workshops and trainings, chocolate making, fruits and vegetable processing, etc. She has
organized 6 skill development training programmes for college students and has been invited as a
guest speaker and resource person at relevant government and non-government organizations.
