“Paramita Rout Yadav: Transforming Education, Empowering Lives in West Bengal”

Paramita Rout Yadav, hailing from Durgapur, West Bengal, recounts her journey with humility and determination. Armed with a Master’s degree in English and a B.Ed., alongside an MBA in Human Resource Management, her entry into the education sector was serendipitous, occurring during her pursuit of an MBA. Unbeknownst to her, this chance encounter gradually evolved into a passionate calling, leading her to believe that she was destined to be an educator.

With seven years of experience in Zee Learn Ltd in Kolkata and North India, Paramita embarked on a new chapter in her career upon relocating to her hometown in Burdwan, West Bengal. Joining Burdwan Holy Child School as Vice-Principal, she encountered a formidable challenge: a school in disarray, plagued by dwindling student numbers and a lack of discipline among both teachers and students.

Undeterred by the daunting task ahead, Paramita, alongside the Secretary, Mr. Samir Rout, and the Administrator, Dr. Amiyanimai Chaudhuri, collaborated tirelessly with the dedicated team of teachers to uplift the school’s standing in Burdwan. Through collective efforts, the school witnessed a remarkable transformation, with student enrollment skyrocketing from approximately 260 to a thousand students. Notably, the school attained affiliation with ISC (Class XII), marking a significant milestone in its journey towards academic excellence.

Paramita’s exemplary leadership did not go unnoticed, earning her prestigious accolades such as the Best Principal Award from the Institute of Scholars in 2020. Furthermore, Burdwan Holy Child School received the Best School Award for Providing Quality and Affordable Education in West Bengal at the India K-12 Summit 2023, a testament to Paramita’s unwavering commitment to excellence. Her remarkable contributions were further recognized with awards such as the Principal of the Year award for Excellence in School Development from the Woman Leaders Forum.

The school’s accomplishments were not limited to accolades; it secured the third position in the district according to The Times of India’s survey and attained the eighth position in India as per the Indian Educational Excellence rankings for imparting exemplary education to children. In 2024, Paramita received the Best Principal Award for Excellence in Bringing & Promoting Academic Excellence in Students at Burdwan Holy Child School, further solidifying her reputation as an educational trailblazer.

Despite the notable successes, Paramita remains grounded, acknowledging that learning is a continual pursuit that requires ardor and diligence. While she takes pride in elevating Burdwan Holy Child School to one of the best in the region, she acknowledges that there is still a long road ahead. Her unwavering resolve to make the school the best in West Bengal is fueled by cooperation, blessings, and a steadfast belief in the transformative power of education.
